India could establish a scientific base on the Moon within the next five decades, according to Anil Bhardwaj, Director of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). He shared the outlook while speaking during the Geocon–2026 conference organised by the Department of Geology at Lucknow University on Saturday. The statement highlights the long-term vision of India’s lunar exploration programme led by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
