• On July 1, the minister will conduct aerial and ground surveys of flood-affected areas in Arunachal Pradesh to evaluate damage to agriculture, villages, and relief camps.
• Chouhan will interact with affected farmers, local residents, women’s groups, and youth to review relief implementation and identify immediate rehabilitation requirements.
• Meetings with Arunachal Pradesh ministers and senior officials will focus on crop loss assessment, compensation, crop insurance, and restoration of damaged infrastructure.
• Discussions will also include rebuilding rural roads, bridges, embankments, and strengthening disaster response mechanisms in flood-prone regions of the Northeast.
• The visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to closely monitor the flood situation and ensure timely relief and rehabilitation support for affected states.
