Kerala-based space startup HEX20 successfully launched its second satellite, KOYO, strengthening its international presence while advancing affordable satellite missions for research, government and commercial customers.

• Kerala-based spacetech startup HEX20 successfully launched its second satellite, KOYO, aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-17 mission, marking another major milestone after the successful launch of Nila last year.
• Around 40 minutes after deployment, KOYO transmitted its first beacon signals, which were decoded by the SatNOGS amateur satellite network, confirming the satellite was fully operational in orbit.
• KOYO carries advanced payloads including Taiwan’s Fiber Optic Gyroscope, configurable power systems, amateur communication equipment and high-performance solar cells integrated into HEX20’s satellite platform.
• The mission successfully validated HEX20’s improved satellite technologies, including advanced solar panel deployment mechanisms, innovative hinge systems, deployable antennas and enhanced platform reliability for future missions.
• HEX20 stated that more than 1,500 beacon packets have already been decoded while over 75 successful commands have been transmitted, with payload operations beginning during the second week.
• The company has announced six additional satellite missions over the next 12 months, including propulsion testing, ship identification, space weather research and advanced Earth observation initiatives.
• One of the upcoming missions includes the Emirates Asteroid Mission Impactor Probe, expected to travel farther than any MicroSat or CubeSat mission previously achieved by humanity.
• With operations across India, the United States, the UAE and Taiwan, HEX20 continues expanding its role as a global satellite mission partner offering end-to-end mission services and payload hosting.
