- The Kedarnath Yatra continued without interruption on Tuesday after weather conditions temporarily improved in Rudraprayag district, allowing thousands of pilgrims to undertake darshan at the sacred Himalayan shrine.
- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for parts of Uttarakhand, forecasting heavy rainfall later in the day and advising residents, pilgrims, and local authorities to remain vigilant.
- In view of the weather warning, the Rudraprayag district administration declared a holiday for all government and private schools from Classes 1 to 12, along with Anganwadi centres, to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Authorities have urged devotees to avoid unnecessary travel to landslide-prone and vulnerable areas and to strictly follow official weather advisories and safety instructions issued by the administration.
- Despite intermittent rainfall and low temperatures in the Himalayan region, the pilgrimage has continued under close monitoring, with administrative agencies ensuring the safety and orderly movement of pilgrims.
- According to official data, more than 14.14 lakh devotees have visited the Kedarnath Temple during this year’s pilgrimage season, reflecting the continued spiritual significance of the Char Dham Yatra.
- Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra stated that the yatra is proceeding smoothly. He added that pilgrim movement, which had been temporarily suspended due to heavy rain warnings, resumed in a phased manner after weather conditions improved.
- Continuous rainfall earlier had enveloped both Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines in dense fog and significantly reduced temperatures across the Char Dham region. However, the pilgrimage continues with enhanced monitoring and precautionary measures.
