Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu launched and laid foundation stones for projects worth over ₹47,600 crore in Odisha, accelerating infrastructure, energy, connectivity and industrial development.

• Development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore were launched in Mayurbhanj district, covering energy, transport, healthcare, irrigation, education, tourism and industrial infrastructure sectors.
• The 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project received approval, strengthening renewable energy integration, grid stability and long-term power security across Odisha.
• Foundation stones were laid for Stage-II expansion of IB Thermal Power Station, adding two new 660 MW units to increase electricity generation capacity.
• Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited project at Lakhanpur will attract nearly ₹25,000 crore investment, boosting chemical manufacturing and industrial growth.
• Two railway multi-tracking projects worth over ₹732 crore were dedicated, enhancing freight transportation efficiency and expanding rail network capacity in eastern India.
• Jakhapura–Jajpur Keonjhar Road–Baitarani Road and Hindol Road–Meramandali rail sections are expected to improve logistics, mineral transportation and regional connectivity.
• Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj was declared a Solar Village, promoting household-level renewable energy adoption and supporting sustainable rural development initiatives.
• The event coincided with President Murmu’s 68th birthday and marked two years of the Odisha government under the theme “Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara”.
