The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved higher MSPs for all mandated Rabi crops for the 2026-27 marketing season. The move aims to secure better returns for farmers and reduce dependence on imports. Alongside, the government launched the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses to boost domestic production.
