Assam has assessed flood-related damage at ₹480 crore, with thousands of families receiving financial assistance as relief and restoration operations continue.

- Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the recent floods damaged 26,681 houses across Assam, with the overall loss estimated at ₹480 crore.
- The state has provided ₹15,000 each to 96,842 flood-affected families, taking interim relief expenditure to ₹146.26 crore.
- Damage assessment is continuing in Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat, with the second survey phase expected to conclude by September 10 or 11.
- More than 1,000 surveyors are working across affected areas, while around 75 per cent of the damage assessment has already been completed.
- The Assam government plans to accelerate Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing for eligible beneficiaries in Charaideo and Sivasagar following consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Around 793 schools are undergoing repairs, while roads, public infrastructure and drainage systems are being restored on a priority basis.
- The state government has planned nearly ₹1,000 crore for relief, assistance and rehabilitation following the severe floods affecting Upper Assam since July 19.
