India and Namibia strengthened economic cooperation at their fourth Joint Trade Committee meeting, with bilateral trade reaching $592.94 million during 2025-26.

- Bilateral merchandise trade increased to Rs. 5,240.12 crore in 2025-26, compared with Rs. 4,806.16 crore recorded during the previous financial year.
- India’s exports to Namibia reached Rs. 3,085.09 crore, while imports stood at Rs. 2,155.03 crore during the latest financial year.
- India’s engineering exports to Namibia surged 124.06% to Rs. 267.25 crore, driven significantly by motor vehicles and related components.
- Pharmaceutical and medical device exports from India reached Rs. 322.57 crore, highlighting healthcare as an increasingly important area of bilateral cooperation.
- Both countries agreed to promote value addition in Namibia and identified investment, services, healthcare, minerals, energy, infrastructure and digital payments as priorities.
- Critical mineral cooperation will cover lithium, graphite, copper, cobalt and rare earth elements, including exploration, processing, offtake and downstream value addition.
- India’s Unified Payments Interface-based payment system, launched as WayaMe in Namibia, will receive further support through proposed fintech cooperation between both countries.
- The two sides finalised terms for an India-Southern African Customs Union preferential trade agreement, with negotiations expected to begin after signing.
