Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the second phase of the Vibrant Villages Programme in Assam, aiming to strengthen border infrastructure and livelihood opportunities.

- The programme will be launched in Cachar district of Assam.
- It focuses on developing border villages and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
- The scheme has a financial outlay of over ₹6,800 crore up to the financial year 2028–29.
- The programme will be implemented across 15 States and 2 Union Territories through a saturation-based and convergence-driven approach.
- It aims to empower border residents to contribute to national security by preventing cross-border crimes and strengthening internal security.
- The Union Home Minister will visit the BSF’s Natunpur border outpost along the India–Bangladesh border and review border fencing and security arrangements.
- He will also address a BJP rally in the Barak Valley, launch the party’s campaign, visit Agartala in Tripura and attend the CRPF Annual Day parade in Guwahati.
- Mr Shah will lay the foundation stone for the new campus of the 10th Assam Police Battalion at Kasutoli in Sonapur.
