Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has been conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. The Ministry of Defence announced the recognition on May 13, 2025, effective from April 16, 2025. The honour celebrates Chopra’s contributions to Indian sports and national pride.
