India and South Korea reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their Special Strategic Partnership during the 6th Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue in Seoul.

The dialogue was co-chaired by P. Kumaran, Secretary (East) in India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Park Yoon-joo, First Vice Foreign Minister of South Korea.

Both sides agreed to deepen engagement in 2026 through high-level visits, ministerial exchanges and joint commission meetings to advance bilateral cooperation.

Comprehensive discussions covered political, economic, defence, security, science and technology, cultural and people-to-people cooperation between the two nations.

India highlighted opportunities for Korean companies in shipbuilding and maritime sectors, while calling for enhanced collaboration on economic security.

The delegations explored joint initiatives in critical minerals, resilient supply chains and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, semiconductors and green hydrogen.

Both countries agreed to intensify cultural exchanges and people-to-people interactions to strengthen mutual understanding and long-term partnership.

The dialogue included discussions on regional and global issues, including developments on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific region.

During his visit, Kumaran met Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and other senior officials to further consolidate the India–Republic of Korea strategic partnership.
