Twelve students and two teachers from Dyal Singh Public School, Karnal, have been acknowledged by NASA\u2019s International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) for discovering asteroid TD40 in the main asteroid belt. The discovery was made using data from the Pan-STARRS telescope.<\/p>\n
Diksha, a Class XI student, led the effort, resulting in the official recognition of the asteroid TD40.<\/p>\n
The team included 11 other students and teachers, Principal Sushma Devgun and Dr Kaveri Chauhan.<\/p>\n
The group discovered 11 near-Earth objects, with one main belt asteroid being officially recognised.<\/p>\n
