Gujarat has become India’s top state in rooftop solar power capacity. As of December 25, 2025, the state has installed 1,879 MW. This milestone was achieved mainly under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Gujarat has already completed 50% of its target to install 1 million residential rooftop systems by March 2027. Strong subsidies and simplified policies drove rapid adoption across urban and rural areas.
