The Ministry of Road Transport and NHAI clarified that no satellite-based tolling will start from May 1, 2025. Instead, a pilot program using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and FASTag technology will begin at selected toll plazas to test seamless, barrier-less tolling.
