On April 5, 2025, Delhi officially joined the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), becoming the 35th state or Union Territory to implement the scheme. This move allows Delhi residents to benefit from one of India’s largest government healthcare programs. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called it a “historic step,” while Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh confirmed that registration will begin on April 10.
