India achieved two big milestones in conservation on September 28, 2025. The Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve in Himachal Pradesh entered UNESCO’s global network. Also, two wetlands in Bihar — Gokul Jalashay and Udaipur Jheel — gained Ramsar status, raising India’s tally to 93. These recognitions strengthen biodiversity protection, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable development efforts.
