The Union Cabinet has approved the creation of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across India and the expansion of one existing KV in Shivamogga, Karnataka. This expansion is part of a long-term plan to accommodate the growing number of central government employees’ children, with a total expenditure of Rs 5,872.08 crore over the next eight years.
