The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28, 2025, approved two key multi-tracking railway projects as part of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, aimed at enhancing India’s rail infrastructure and multi-modal connectivity.

- Projects include third and fourth railway lines between Ratlam and Nagda, and a fourth line between Wardha and Balharshah.
- Total project cost estimated at ₹3,399 crore, expected completion by 2029–30.
- The projects cover around 176 km, spanning four districts in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
- Rail connectivity will improve for nearly 784 villages, benefiting approximately 19.74 lakh people.

- Projects will generate about 74 lakh human-days of direct employment during construction.
