The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has formed a joint committee to probe alleged illegal mining and environmental violations at a morrum quarry in Jajpur district, Odisha. The order was passed in January 2026 after a petition alleged mining beyond permitted limits without valid clearance. The panel will inspect the site and submit its report within eight weeks.
