• More than 50,000 saplings were planted across 31 states during a nationwide plantation campaign organised on the occasion of Hariyali Amavasya.
• Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan led the campaign in collaboration with Vriksh Mitra Parivar across multiple regions.
• A major plantation programme was held at Central Ridge in New Delhi, bringing together farmers, youth, officials, lawmakers and citizens.

• Chouhan highlighted that plantation must be followed by regular protection and care to ensure long-term survival and growth of saplings.
• Panchayats, urban bodies and institutions were encouraged to designate plantation areas and establish arrangements for protecting trees over the long term.
