• The Government will introduce five new bills in the Lok Sabha during the Monsoon Session, covering taxation reforms, MSME development, judiciary, civil registration, and national governance.
• The proposed MSME Development Amendment Bill seeks to strengthen the legal framework for micro, small, and medium enterprises to improve ease of doing business and economic growth.
• An Income Tax Amendment Bill will also be introduced, alongside legislation providing statutory backing to tax relief earlier granted to Foreign Portfolio Investors through an ordinance.
• The Supreme Court Number of Judges Amendment Bill, 2026, aims to provide legislative approval for increasing judicial strength, supporting faster disposal of pending court cases.
• Other proposed legislations include amendments to the Registration of Births and Deaths Act and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act to strengthen administrative and legal provisions.
• The Government also plans to seek passage of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Amendment Bill, 2026, introducing changes to regulations governing foreign funding received by eligible organizations.
• Another priority legislation, the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, aims to advance higher education reforms by strengthening institutional governance, quality, and academic development.
• Ahead of the Monsoon Session, NDA floor leaders are scheduled to meet to finalize parliamentary strategy, coordinate legislative priorities, and ensure smooth passage of key government bills.
