• Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong gusty winds is expected in the notified districts, particularly across hilly and vulnerable regions.
• Moderate rainfall has also been forecast for Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Vellore, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Namakkal, Erode, Salem and Madurai.
• The weather department has indicated that widespread rainfall activity is likely to continue across several parts of Tamil Nadu throughout Monday and Tuesday.
• In Chennai, partly cloudy skies with moderate rainfall at isolated places are expected, while temperatures may range between 28°C and 39°C.
• Authorities have advised residents in low-lying and landslide-prone areas to remain alert as heavy rain may trigger waterlogging, poor visibility and localized disruptions.
• Disaster response teams have been placed on alert, and local administrations have been instructed to monitor weather developments and implement emergency preparedness measures.
