India has strengthened its maritime outreach in the Indian Ocean Region as INS Tarkash docked at Port Louis, enhancing defence cooperation, naval training and strategic engagement with Mauritius.

- INS Tarkash, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius, on 20 June during its operational deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region.

- INS Tarkash will be open to visitors during its stay, promoting people-to-people engagement and strengthening cultural and diplomatic connections between both nations.
- The naval vessel also participated in International Day of Yoga celebrations in Mauritius on 21 June, reflecting India’s wider cultural diplomacy efforts.
- The deployment highlights India’s commitment to regional maritime security, capacity building and maintaining stability across the strategically important Indian Ocean region.
