- The three flagship Jan Suraksha schemes were launched on 9 May 2015 to provide affordable insurance and pension protection for economically vulnerable citizens.
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana recorded more than 27.43 crore enrolments while settling insurance claims worth over ₹21,512 crore nationwide.

- The government stated that digitisation and the online Jan Suraksha Portal significantly improved enrolment procedures and accelerated insurance claim settlement processes.
- The schemes strengthened India’s financial inclusion framework by expanding social security coverage, improving insurance awareness, and supporting low-income families across rural regions.
