Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Majlis Park–Maujpur Babarpur corridor of the Pink Line, completing India’s first operational Ring Metro system in Delhi.

The newly opened Pink Line corridor spans about 12.3 kilometres and connects key areas across north and northeast Delhi.

With this addition, the Pink Line now stretches nearly 71.56 kilometres, forming a loop that improves cross city connectivity.

Stations on the corridor include Majlis Park, Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur Wazirabad, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar and Maujpur Babarpur.

The project includes major engineering features such as a bridge over the Yamuna river and a double decker viaduct carrying both metro track and road flyover.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park extension of the Magenta Line covering about 9.9 kilometres.

With the extension, the Magenta Line length has increased to nearly 49 kilometres, including elevated sections reaching about 28 metres in height.

The government also laid the foundation stone for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase Five expansion.

These include the Central Vista underground corridor and Golden Line extensions connecting Aerocity with Terminal One and Tughlakabad with Kalindi Kunj.

The expansion is expected to improve urban mobility, strengthen airport connectivity and support sustainable transport in Delhi.
