• NITI Aayog has prepared a draft Energy Transition Blueprint to develop Andhra Pradesh as one of India’s top three renewable energy hubs.

• The blueprint proposes investments of around 7.5 lakh crore rupees in the energy sector over the long term.

• NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam handed over the draft blueprint to Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand at the State Secretariat in Amaravati.

• The plan aims to ensure clean, affordable and reliable electricity access for all consumers in the state.

• It also seeks to position Andhra Pradesh as a major renewable energy export hub by the year 2035.

• The blueprint has been prepared under NITI Aayog’s ASSET (Accelerating Sustainable State Energy Transition) platform.

• As per draft estimates, nearly 47 percent of Andhra Pradesh’s installed power capacity currently comes from renewable energy sources.
