NITI Aayog has prepared a draft Energy Transition Blueprint to develop Andhra Pradesh as one of India’s top three renewable energy hubs.

The blueprint proposes investments of around 7.5 lakh crore rupees in the energy sector over the long term.

NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam handed over the draft blueprint to Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand at the State Secretariat in Amaravati.

The plan aims to ensure clean, affordable and reliable electricity access for all consumers in the state.

It also seeks to position Andhra Pradesh as a major renewable energy export hub by the year 2035.

The blueprint has been prepared under NITI Aayog’s ASSET (Accelerating Sustainable State Energy Transition) platform.

As per draft estimates, nearly 47 percent of Andhra Pradesh’s installed power capacity currently comes from renewable energy sources.
